The practice

Every piece begins as a gesture and is built up in plaster and paste until the surface itself becomes the subject: fall, drape, imperfect line.Most of the work is monochrome by choice. Stripped of colour, what remains is light and shadow moving across a handmade surface: quiet objects that hold their own in a room without asking for it.

And then, once,

Saffron and coral with a seam of magenta and gold torn straight through the middle, the one piece where the restraint gives out. It is the largest work in the studio and the only one that changes the temperature of a room.
